- Location: Southern England
- Project: New storage tanks for storm and sewage management
- Duration: 3 years (potentially 5 years)
Working with delivery partner Galliford Try, Skilled Labour Services supplied labour to help deliver Southern Water’s AMP programme.
Galliford Try knew that Skilled Labour Services has a proven track record in handling both process works focused on water and wastewater treatment and network projects, including upgrades to water supply, wastewater pipelines, and pumping stations.
Under the AMP6 framework, we helped with the £5.5m upgrade of the Portswood wastewater treatment works in Southampton to reduce odour. This project involved fitting covers on two sludge consolidation tanks and upgrading the inlet works and storm and primary settlement tanks.
Another significant project was on the Isle of Wight at Shanklin, where we supplied labour to help provide 750,000 litres of additional stormwater storage and improving bathing water quality.
Overall, we have a team of 25 people working on the Galliford Try/Southern Water project, with a potential to extend beyond two years to five years.
