- Location: Tipner Lake, Portsmouth
- Project: 2km of sea defence walls
- Duration: 6 months
We were proud to supply the skilled labour for phase 3 of this project – the enhancement of flood defences, consisting of a robust sea wall with key access points to the foreshore. The project also significantly upgraded the public realm space, incorporating a shared footpath and cycleway, landscaped areas, play features, and information points. The new path links the Mountbatten Centre to the Hilsea roundabout, restoring 2km of coastal pathways. Concurrently, we carried out essential drainage works to address and rectify any existing drainage issues.
Our team also played a role in the introduction of three tidal pools designed to encourage marine biodiversity. Additionally, we facilitated the planting of 200m² of locally grown saltmarsh and reinstated 150m² of divided sedge. These efforts ensure ample opportunity for local ecology to thrive, contributing to the environmental sustainability of the area.
